Jingle All The Way

This week started with work towards the December Christmas Challenge Badge. Saturday afternoon was spent visiting a Christmas Craft Market at the local Arts Centre (all rather lovely) followed by another market on a local street (not so lovely). I then spent the evening watching 'It's a Wonderful Life' as it was on the telly and I had never seen it before. I rather enjoyed it.  The creation of greetings cards has begun. I am using my geometry skills to create a series of baubles! Much to my dismay, I got Whammed this morning; despite loving the song I didn't zone into it until about 10 seconds before the end and then stood in the shop in dismay. My kind friend realised before I did but didn't let on.

Two of my local rebels and I collected everything on the list of the Reverse Advent Calendar for our local foodbank. They run it during November and early December so that they have time to organise and distribute the goodies before Christmas.

The week's Christmas challenges finished with me attempting to make a wreath using macrame; the instruction video says suitable for beginners, and so far only one knot has been used, but I am finding it all a little confusing. I shall persevere, because I am bloody minded and determined not to be defeated, and will share the result when finished. The origami paper has finally arrived so I can continue making my Advent calendar from last week, just in time for Advent to finish. Never mind, it will last until next year.

I also finished my 'Event Planner' badge with the work Christmas Do; honestly, teachers are harder to organise than toddlers! However, all went well, everyone ate, Secret Santa gifts were dished out, and a humorous evening was had by all. I even put sparkly bits on the tables as well as chocolate coins. I don't usually adapt badge clauses, but this seemed like a reasonable swap having organised many kids birthday parties over the years with less effort and stress!
